'Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked' Trailer: More High-Pitched Pop Hits and Sexualized Rodents

July 28, 2011

Having thoroughly exhausted themselves and everyone else over the course of two feature films, Alvin and the Chipmunks are going on vacation, and, like it or not, we're going along with them as they sing high-pitched cover songs on a cruise ship and, later, sing high-pitched cover songs while stranded on an island, where they'll slowly waste away of dehydration, the echo of a high-pitched melody of "Bad Romance" forever hanging heavy in the air.

Don't worry, furry fetishists: director Mike Mitchell (Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, Surviving Christmas) still made sure to include a couple shots of the Chipettes wrapped only in towels for you.

If nothing else, I respect the series' commitment to shaping itself around constant, entirely unpleasant sounds.
