'Afro Samurai' Will Be a Live-Action Movie Now

Afro Samurai, the cartoon samurai whose distinguishing feature is having an enormous afro, will soon be portrayed by an actual human wearing an enormous afro wig. As part of the Comic Con gaiety, it was announced today that Indomina Group Vice Chairman and CEO Jasbinder Singh Mann and Samuel L. Jackson--who voiced Afro in the animated films--will be producing a live-action take on the anime. Because anything with bear-headed sword fighters in it clearly belongs in the real world. Or, as Singh Mann sinisterly put it in a statement:

"When Indomina was launched, 'Afro Samurai' was quickly identified as the perfect property for us to option and exploit through our vertical channels targeted to a fanboy audience."

So at least you know their heart's in the right place.
