In a purchase that almost guarantees we'll be seeing Zach Galifianakis's shirtless belly comically jiggle as he demos a machine gun, Todd Phillips' Green Hat Films has optioned the film rights and hopes to direct an adaptation of Guy Lawson's "Arms and the Dudes," a Rolling Stone article about two stoners who somehow became major arms dealers for the US government. More on that from Variety:

Story, which appeared in the March 31 issue of Rolling Stone, chronicled the tale of David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli, who won a $300 million contract from the Pentagon to arm America's allies in Afghanistan. The two made 85 deliveries of munitions to Afghanistan worth more than $66 million before their arms-dealing careers were cut short when federal agents raided their Miami Beach offices in Aug. 2007, culminating in 71 counts of fraud.

Something to keep in mind next time you get high and start thinking you and your buddy should be selling guns.
