United States' Best Captain Takes Weekend Box Office

July 25, 2011

Your weekend box office top five:

1. Captain America: The First Avenger - $65.8 million, just beating out Marvel's earlier summer release, Thor. And yet, still, Captain America pouts.

2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 - $48 million, granting noseless, bald villains the top spots their disabilities deserve them.

3. Friends with Benefits - $18.5 million, falling a little short of No Strings Attached's January opening--hinting, perhaps, that audiences are ready to see a deeper relationship commitment from their Black Swan stars.

4. Transformers: Dark of the Moon - $12 million, dropping two spots in box office and one spot in aggressive patriotism rankings.

5. Horrible Bosses - $11.7 million, once again doings its job of not letting Zookeeper otherwise have this spot.
