Joss Whedon Seems To Have Secretly Made a Shakespeare Adaptation

Apparently jealous that Kenneth Branagh has a résumé that includes both a superhero movie AND an adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing, Avengers director Joss Whedon has remedied the unbalance of that situation, seemingly already finishing up shooting on an adaptation of his own version of Much Ado About Nothing. So eff you, Branagh. At MuchAdoMovie.com, a poster of sorts has gone up listing stars--including various Whedon regulars like Nathan Fillion and Amy Acker--and coyly noting that Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing is "based on a play." Though nothing had been known of this project until now, Fillion claims that, despite the presence of Clark Gregg in the cast list, this is not some kind obtuse Avengers viral promotion. The actor tweeted:

Oh, it's real. Very. Very. Real.

The Wrap, too, claims the project is a real thing, but, as with all Whedon ventures, I suppose we won't know for certain how real it is until it's somehow cancelled.
