Errol Morris Short 'Umbrella Man' Explores JFK Assassination, Nature of Investigation, Umbrellas

Undeterred by accusations of fraud and dogslaughter, Errol Morris has put together a new, six-minute documentary for the New York Times. With the aid of Zapruder film expert Josiah "Tink" Thompson's talking head, the short takes a brief look at one JFK assassination theory that deals with an umbrella-wielding man whose dark presence caused rampant speculation as to his involvement. But, as Home Alone taught us, just because there's an ominous old man holding a weapon-like seasonal item, it doesn't always mean he's involved in the crime. Sometimes it was Lee Harvey Oswald, Joe Pesci, or Daniel Stern.
