Joel Edgerton Probably Your New '300'

November 2, 2011

Claiming the title of Most Suddenly-Ubiquitous Action Australian from Sam Worthington, Joel Edgerton has entered into talks to star in 300 spin-off 300: Battle of Artemisia. Edgerton would play Themistocles, an Athenian archon and general who fought in slow motion against a green screen in the first Persian invasion of Greece. Original 300 director, Visionary Zack Snyder, is currently working on adapting the film's script from Frank Miller's upcoming graphic novel, though Smart People director Noam Murro will this time be the one behind the camera, commanding Edgerton to scream angrier and more Gerard Butler-like. (Angry screaming is what keeps the masses of ripped, shirtless guys from seeming a little gay.)
