Adding to his already busy schedule of working around the clock, Harrison Ford has agreed to join Gavin Hood's adaptation of Ender's Game--thus elevating that film to the dubious level of "a Harrison Ford movie," not just "the next one from the guy who crapped out Wolverine." Ford will play Colonel Hyram Graff, the man in charge of training the young male recruits at the military academy, where he does not set about systematically raping them in the showers. I could tell you were worried about that, so I just thought I'd lay it out there.
While Hugo star Asa Butterfield has already secured the title role, joining him in the cast are Oscar-nominated 15-year-olds Abigail Breslin and Hailee Steinfeld, who will play Ender's older sister Valentine and his trusted friend Petra, respectively. Meanwhile, Aramis Knight has been cast as diminutive recruit Bean, Beethoven's Big Break's Moises Arias will play someone named Bonzo, Jimmy "Jax" Pinchak will play Ender's older brother Peter, Suraj Parthasarathy will play Alai, Conor Carroll will play Bernard, and Khylin Rhambo will play the Rat Army's smartest member, Dink. If you're familiar with the Ender's Game book, I'll just assume some of that made sense to you. If not... I don't know. Some kids will be playing some kids.
