Seinfeld's Mr. Kruger in Critical Condition After Apparent Suicide Attempt

February 22, 2012

Daniel von Bargen--probably best known for his recurring television roles on Seinfeld and Malcolm in the Middle--is reportedly in critical condition following a failed suicide attempt. TMZ has the tape of the actor's 911 call, which begins with the admission, "I've shot myself in the head, and I need help," and only gets more harrowing from there. According to von Bargen's labored description of the circumstances surrounding the event, the O Brother, Where Art Thou? actor was meant to go to the hospital today to have several toes amputated due to complications with his diabetes. Tragically, he instead put a .38 Colt to his temple, and by the time the police arrived to the scene, he was unable to open his eyes.

Listen to the haunting recording if you want, but you're definitely better off remembering him by watching this Mr. Kruger "best of" and letting loose a doleful K-OOGER in support of the actor.
