I guess this rules out any hope for the chapter where they get drunk in space.
In Warner Bros.' official statement announcing The Hangover, Part III's May 24, 2013 release date (by the way, The Hangover, Part III is coming out next year), series director Todd Phillips has made the claim so many of us have made following a painful and/or critically-panned hangover: it's time to stop this. Phillips says this will be the "final chapter" in the Hangover series, and what's more, it's apparently "going to surprise a lot of people"--implying, perhaps, that it won't be the usual, expected-but-profitable routine of getting too drunk and doing dumb shit that makes Ken Jeong scream. The director would only hint that whatever happens will make for "a fitting conclusion," so... maybe alcohol poisoning? Or it turns out both prior films were decreasingly-inspired products of Alan's autistic mind? We'll have to wait until next May to find out. Then probably another 12 to 18 months before we find out what happens after that in The Hangover: Mr. Chow Gets Down! on DVD and on-demand.
