Olds To Receive 'Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' Sequel

October 30, 2012

With your parents and the one couple they sometimes go out with bringing The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel to a worldwide gross of over $130 million, work has begun on a follow-up to The Avengers of wizened, lighthearted melodrama.

The original was made for only $10 million, giving Fox Searchlight an unexpectedly huge profit on their investment, so the studio is naturally keen on getting aged stars Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Penelope Wilton, and Tom Wilkinson back together before they or the audience lose interest in the film and turn their gaze out the window, a wistful smile creeping across their face as they consider their lives and eventually drift to sleep. So, striking while the afghan is still pleasantly warm, writer Ol Parker has already begun drafting a sequel treatment, and Vulture reports it is expected to be delivered within the next month. Guys... what if it turns out there's a better hotel?
