Tyler Perry's 'Alex Cross' Already Getting Tyler Perry's Sequel

October 18, 2012

Tyler Perry's interpretation of Alex Cross has yet to shout "heller!" to theaters, but already the character seems fated to follow in the thundering footsteps of Madea: dismal critical reception nonetheless followed by inexplicable sequels!

Though the Rob Cohen-directed Alex Cross doesn't open until tomorrow, and currently holds a 15% on RottenTomatoes, QED International is reportedly already "finalizing" a deal that will see another of James Patterson's "unputdownable" Alex Cross novels in theaters. Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider already covered by Morgan Freeman, the sequel would focus on the events of Double Cross, with Tyler Perry reprising the role of Alex Cross on the hunt for an FBI agent-turned-serial killer who has recently escaped from a Florence prison. Alex Cross Goes to Jail then?
