After years of rights disputes, 20th Century Fox has at last worked out a way to do another adaptation of Guys and Dolls. They have also worked out a way to save money on it by casting actors who can bring their own little suits and vests.

No offers have yet gone out, as the musical doesn't have a writer or director, but Fox reportedly want recent exotic dancers Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Channing Tatum to star in the remake, taking on the Nathan Detroit and Sky Masterson roles made famous by Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando. The casting makes some sense, as both actors have recently shown off their singing-and-mostly-dancing chops in things like Magic Mike, SNL monologues, and Seth MacFarlane's Oscars intro. But mostly it makes sense because Channing Tatum is definitively our generation's Brando.

Anyway, this is all just Fox's "hopes" and the actors being "interested" right now, so we won't worry about all the details until there's more to report, and I finally gain a deeper understanding of Guys and Dolls than this:
