Olga Kurylenko To Star in Your Next Teenage Vampire Thing

April 30, 2013

Following in Gemma Arterton's questionable path, Olga Kurylenko is going from Quantum of Solace Bond girl to some kind of thing with more teenage vampires.

Deadline reports the Oblivion actress will play a headmistress, joining Beautiful Creatures' Zoey Deutch and Australian unknown Lucy Fry, in Vampire Academy. Despite its misleading title, the film is apparently not a raunchy 1980s Roger Corman escapade but, like so many a teenage vampire thing, is based on some apparently-popular young adult books. The six-novel series is told from the perspective of a 17-year-old half-vampire who shares a psychic bond with her full-vampire friend, both of whom attend a school creatively named Vampire Academy, because it's for vampires. Mean Girls and Freaky Friday director Mark Waters is attached to bring the film his complex understanding of high school dynamics, supernatural brain links, and pretty young girls who end up becoming ghastly beings.
