Continuing to be the Arrested Development of humorless Kiefer Sutherland real-time thrillers, 24 is reportedly putting aside long-held movie plans to instead return as a limited series. Titled 24: Live Another Day, the series will reportedly still cover a full day, but will now condense the time to span only 12 hour-long episodes. As Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly explained yesterday, this means the show now "will skip hours [to] be dictated by the plot"--cleverly mimicking the tight, fat-trimming editing style of everything that is not 24. The show is scheduled to air next May with an all-new story arc for Kiefer Sutherland to shoot and bark his way through. Other main cast isn't yet confirmed, as that hard-bargaining clock really thinks it's someone.
