Ever maintaining a delicate balance of intellectual, auteur-driven fare, Frat Pack jerkery, and lending dogs/vehicles a Texas drawl, Owen Wilson is adding another film to the dwindling first category with a part in Paul Thomas Anderson's Inherent Vice. TheWrap reports he's in negotiations to take on "a lead role" beside Joaquin Phoenix's pot-smoking P.I. in the '70s-set detective film, but it's not yet clear exactly what part he's up for. This may be a good time to read back over the Thomas Pynchon novel and see if any characters are described as having a not-exactly appropriate haircut, but one they're apparently going to leverage into only changing for Behind Enemy Lines.
