Despite the commercial and critical failure of The Internship, Owen Wilson just can't resist the allure of a comedy team-up that would have been pretty popular a decade ago. So, he'll reportedly be joining Jim Carrey on the now-untitled comedy formerly called Loomis Fargo, the latest from Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess.
As previously reported, Carrey is attached to play an ex-military armored car driver who organizes a bank heist and gets quickly betrayed by his partners. The film's script is based on a true story, and started in the hands of Up All Night creator Emily Spivey before presumably getting deeply darkened by Eastbound & Down's Danny McBride and Jody Hill, then had a final pass by Hess's Napoleon Dynamite television writers. Wilson's role in the film hasn't been described. Perhaps a shaggy, surfer-haired vault?
