Mitch Hurwitz Officially Working on 'Arrested Development' Movie

August 27, 2013

Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz has begun work on the long and taxing process of reminding us how his series still might make it to a movie. "I'm working on the movie right now," he just told Rolling Stone in a short interview. "I can't get into much more detail because I don't want to scare anybody off. I don't want to be presumptuous about it. I don't own the property outright - it's a 20th Century Fox property. But everybody seems really into it and really eager to make a movie."

Of course, as always, there are the questions of "when?" and "her?", but for now Hurwitz will only say he's "hoping it happens as soon as possible."

"I want to be very careful about not putting out false information," he continued. "I want to get a time and tell everybody when it's happening and not play with people. Right now, I'm trying to do something else for Netflix and a movie project and things. I'm always sort of superstitious about talking about this stuff before it happens. It's the best way to guarantee it doesn't happen."

So, in summary, we still don't know when or even if an Arrested Development movie will happen, but at least Hurwitz is working on it, along with at least two other projects and some nondescript "things." We should probably just watch Season 4 again.

(Thanks, Lisa!)
