Following the overblown controversy of his superhero casting, Ben Affleck is retreating to the soothing sanctuary of his own personal Batcave: some sort of Boston crime drama. Variety has confirmed Affleck is headed to television, partnering with Moonlighting creator Glenn Gordon Caron for Fox's The Middle Man. Caron is writing the pilot, and Affleck is now attached to direct, picking a pretty easy lob for his debut on the medium. Set in the 1960s, the series centers on FBI agent Rudy MacAteer, a Bostonian "tasked with taking down the Mafia." I hope he wins!
