Leonardo DiCaprio Will Be Woodrow Wilson

September 17, 2013

Just over a week since Leonardo DiCaprio wanted to star in an Island of Dr. Moreau remake, now the actor is looking to play another progressive vanguard with a disturbing record on integration. THR reports the actor is attached to both produce and star in a biopic about Woodrow Wilson for Warner Bros. For a script basis, the studio is in early talks to pick up the rights to A. Scott Berg's recently-published Wilson, which reportedly "offers up a heroic, larger-than-life Wilson, emphasizing his progressive achievements like the creation of the Federal Reserve and his crusade in support of the Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nations while downplaying his weak record on civil liberties and civil rights for African Americans." After Lincoln brought Daniel Day-Lewis an Oscar, could this be what finally brings DiCaprio his much-sought fourth ultimately-disappointing nomination?
