Martin Freeman To Try Out Minnesota Accent for 'Fargo'

September 27, 2013

If they're looking to give the Fargo TV series a fanatical cult following that will forever insist this version is the best, hiring Martin Freeman isn't a bad start. THR reports that the star of The Office that's better than the other Office and the Sherlock that's better than Elementary has now joined the Fargo that probably won't be better than the movie, but may be better than the last attempt at a Fargo series. He'll apparently play Lester Nygaard, henpecked insurance salesman and rough equivalent of William H. Macy's Jerry Lundegaard from the Coen brothers' 1996 film. Bilbo asking "what the heck ya mean?" is not expected to seem natural at all.
