Vin Diesel Repeatedly Raises Goggles to Box Office Win

September 9, 2013

Your weekend box office:

1. Riddick - $18.7 million, topping this slow, late summer weekend, when the first precious droplets of dew begin forming on Vin Diesel's head.

2. Lee Daniels' The Butler - $8.9 million, finally and forcibly pushed out of the top position--much like President John Cusack was.

3. Instructions Not Included - Expanding to 700 more theaters, the Spanish-language film moved up a spot with $8.1 million. Should the comedy continue at this pace, by Thanksgiving, someone from your family should have something vaguely racist to say about it.

4. We're the Millers - $7.9 million, still innocuously lingering around as an attractive enough option, as Jennifer Aniston will do.

5. Planes - $4.3 million, pushing past last week's top contender, One Direction: This Is Us, to reclaim the title of Reason To Be Concerned for Our Youth.
