Daniel Radcliffe To Become a Middle-Distance Wizard

October 30, 2013

Daniel Radcliffe is going to do some running, and not just from the shadow of a role so large he'll never escape it. He's going to play track and field athlete turned politician Sebastian Coe in Gold, a film that sounds something like Rush if you got rid of all the cars. As per the official description, it will follow Coe--"obsessive and nurtured ... a quiet loner driven to the limit of endeavour by his ambitious father"--and his rivalry against fellow British middle-distance runner Steve Ovett in the lead-up to the 1980 Moscow olympics. The star's Woman in Black director James Watkins will guide us on this journey of watching Radcliffe jog, like we're the saddest paparazzi.
