Quentin Tarantino Gives His Pre-Prestige Season Top 10, Includes 'Lone Ranger'

October 7, 2013

In what is not really news when you think about it, Quentin Tarantino has revealed that he really likes historical fiction ostentatiously dressed up as revenge fantasy. The director this weekend gave premier Tarantino information site Tarantino.info his list of the year's top ten films so far. Among them: yes, the expensive and thoroughly underwhelming Lone Ranger. Also some other things with levels of prestige, violence, and/or profanity high enough to hold Tarantino's attention. See the full alphabetical list below.

1. Afternoon Delight (Jill Soloway)
2. Before Midnight (Richard Linklater)
3. Blue Jasmine (Woody Allen)
4. The Conjuring (James Wan)
5. Drinking Buddies (Joe Swanberg)
6. Frances Ha (Noah Baumbach)
7. Gravity (Alfonso Cuarón)
8. Kick Ass 2 (Jeff Wadlow)
9. The Lone Ranger (Gore Verbinski)
10. This Is The End (Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg)
