Daily Show's John Oliver Now Has Leisure of Weekly Show on HBO

November 14, 2013

John Oliver has achieved the dream of so many a TV star: to have a show on HBO instead of their network. After earning praise for his work taking over Jon Stewart's Daily Show duties in his absence, Oliver is reportedly now getting his own show to air Sundays on HBO. Akin to The Daily Show, it's said this new series will take "a satirical look at the week in news, politics and current events." It debuts next year, at which point you should officially start assuming that every bit of political news your friends mention has come from a televised comedy source.
