Joe Wright Will Direct One of Many 'Peter Pan' Films in Development

November 12, 2013

Though there are already at least three other Peter Pan projects in development, Warner Bros. is insisting that the timeless tale of flying, un-aging god-boy versus pirates must be told still again. The studio has reportedly started talks with Joe Wright--director of such Keira Knightley's Time Travel Adventures episodes as Atonement, Pride & Prejudice, and Anna Karenina--to helm a new spin on Pan. It's being produced by Greg Berlanti, executive producer on Arrow (DC's Peter Pan of archery), and has a script from Ice Age: Continental Drift writer Jason Fuchs. It's an origin story and, yes, of course that means it's already being loosely compared to Batman Begins. At last, Peter's tights may take the shape of a more practical sculpted body armor.
