The trailer for the new Spider-Man movie is here, and if you're looking for more of the familiar, rest assured, it all still looks just as bright and functional as every time we've seen the high-key hero swinging around before. Also as expected: the superhero sequel standard of a glut of enemies, with origins and set pieces seemingly scheduled for Electro, Rhino, and a young haircut that becomes the Green Goblin.
But the real villain here? Science and technology. Specifically, evil science and technology, as Peter Parker's father seems to have discovered is going on at Oscorp. It's that evil sciencing that's involved in the creation of all three villains here--and with a brief shot teasing the company has built Doctor Octopus's tentacle pack and the Vulture's wings, you can likely count on at least a couple more origin stories conveniently taking place on the Oscorp set, too. Can Spider-Man take down three of his toughest foes yet? Can he take being labeled an anti-corporate zealot indoctrinating America's youth with his communist manifesto? So we'll see next summer, and tomorrow morning on Fox & Friends.
Ninja Turtles producer Michael Bay is going to be so pissed when he finds out someone already did "hero heaving a manhole cover in front of a giant explosion."
