Jeff Goldblum has confirmed he'll likely be back for Independence Day 2, which is good, because he's the one who has the alien-defeating virus saved on his laptop. Asked about his involvement in the sequel, Judd Hirsch's fictional son told the The Huffington Post, "Yeah, they've talked to me about it and I've talked to them about it and they're excited and I'm anxious and eager to see -- I haven't read anything -- what they cook up. You know, I think they're trying to put it together." Sadly, the word isn't as good as far as Dr. Ian Malcolm goes. Goldblum added that he won't be in Jurassic World for the same reason he wasn't in Jurassic Park III: no one asked him. Such is man's hubris in playing god, resurrecting extinct species, and thinking a franchise should go on with diminishing Goldblum.
