Leonardo DiCaprio Turned Down 'Hocus Pocus' for 'Gilbert Grape', Is No Doubt Haunted By This Decision

Long before growing famous for iconic roles like John Titanic and Michael Inception, Leonardo DiCaprio nearly took a role in Disney's Hocus Pocus, the actor has revealed. Speaking to Variety, DiCaprio said that, after This Boy's Life, he was offered "more money than [he] ever dreamed of" to be in the 1993 Bette Midler Halloween comedy. Instead, he decided to join Johnny Depp on the indie drama What's Eating Gilbert Grape, and that ended up working out fine for him. DiCaprio has started in several films since.
