Like the college freshman who claims they can't do their homework unless their parents buy them a MacBook, David Fincher has decided he simply cannot make his Steve Jobs biopic unless he's got one of the various sizes of high-end Christian Bales. According to The Wrap, the director recently met with Sony's Amy Pascal on the matter, "and told her, in no uncertain terms, that he'd only take the reins of the project if Bale plays Jobs." Bale does, after all, have the necessary computer experience.
The Academy Award-winning actor is said to be taking a break after the shooting of Ridley Scott's Exodus, and has thus not yet officially been offered the part. But if Bale does accept, it would be his first time working with Fincher, as well as his first run at tackling the actor-heavy and oft-acclaimed writing of The Social Network scribe Aaron Sorkin. Guys... this could end up more prestigious than that Ashton Kutcher movie.
