Errol Morris Now Working for Taco Bell

Shifting from The Thin Blue Line to the thin brown line of sausage product found at the center of an A.M. Crunchwrap®, documentarian Errol Morris is now working for Taco Bell. The Academy Award and KFC Breakout Bucket Award-winning documentarian was recently hired by the almost-Mexican fast food chain to direct a series of ads to promote their new breakfast menu. Morris had, after all, directed Fast, Cheap, and Out of Control, as well as a film about a self-made expert in American executions, so it seemed a natural fit.

In the spots, actual people named Ronald McDonald profess their love for such things as a a sad waffle wrapped around scraps of bacon and rubbery egg. Because the participants' collective name is Ronald McDonald, this functions as an effective McDonald's attack ad to those who thought their loyalty to McGriddles could never be tested. Not bad, but wouldn't it be more effective just to have Morris lustfully gazing through his Interrotron, desperately wishing he could get at the A.M. Grilled Taco sausage pellets on the other side?
