Fantastic Four, Wolverine Sequels Already Have Release Dates

March 21, 2014

Hinting that we're not going to suddenly stop filling theaters with superhero movies anytime soon, 20th Century Fox has announced release dates into 2018 for the Marvel properties they still stubbornly control. March 3, 2017 will see the release of James Mangold's follow-up to The Wolverine, and while the Fantastic Four reboot hasn't even started shooting, a second one is already scheduled for July 14, 2017. Like a Chinese food order, we're going in knowing that even if it's not very good, we're still going to end up eating those leftovers.

The studio also dated a still-unknown Marvel project for July 18, 2018, so that's likely the X-Force movie they quietly started planning last year. 2018 may finally be the year a big superhero tentpole supports massive shoulder pads.
