Brad Pitt and his Plan B production company have reportedly attached Animal Kingdom's David Michôd to write and direct an adaptation of The Operators, Michael Hastings' book about the war in Afghanistan and General Stanley McChrystal, the apparent Brad Pitt of US Army generals. Pitt is already attached to play McChrystal, who Hastings wrote was actually called not "the Brad Pitt of US Army generals" but rather a "rock star." (For example, here he is listening to some sweet jams, no doubt.) That reputation grew large enough that Rolling Stone, which once dealt with rock stars, interviewed McChrystal in a now-infamous piece in which the general talked shit on Biden and other Obama administration. Soon after its publication, he was forced to resign.
The film will reportedly cover both military operations and the parts where McChrystal speaks his mind and gets himself fired. If you're a general, this will probably be your Office Space.
