With their Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed series already being made into films, video game developer Ubisoft is looking to the future with an adaptation of Watch Dogs, their latest game where a generic white guy looks all cool and mysterious. The game doesn't come out until next month, but already Zombieland and G.I. Joe: Retaliation writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are reportedly working on a script for the film. The story is set in a parallel universe, hyper-networked Chicago and focuses on Aiden Pearce, because that's just the kind of name you want a thrilling protagonist to have. Pearce is a really awesome hacker who can hack into pretty much everything thanks to this version of the city being so digitally connected. Naturally, he also has guns, so he can shoot things and steal cars. Later in his life, once he's taken down Chicago's central system, he becomes John Travolta from Old Dogs and his story continues from there ...with hilarious results!
