Today in Star Wars news: Chronicle director Josh Trank is going to direct a spin-off, and J.J. Abrams has revealed that his handwriting looks like a goofy font.
On the latter subject, Abrams today tweeted this message bemoaning the leaked photos of a big rubber alien thing and the construction of a full-scale Millennium Falcon. As a bit of a wink to the astute and nerdy, while Abrams' note claims it's "ridiculous" that Han Solo's famous ship is in the movie, the note is resting on the Millennium Falcon's dejarik table--the surface where Chewbacca and R2-D2 played their little holographic Battle Chess. Sly confirmation that Episode VII will indeed see an elderly man driving around in his old jalopy.
Meanwhile, Trank has officially joined Godzilla director Gareth Edwards in getting his own Star Wars standalone movie tackle. The topic of the spin-off films haven't yet been revealed, but character-focused takes on Boba Fett and a young Han Solo have long been discussed. Time to finally get some answers on where Han bought his vest.
