'Sonic the Hedgehog' Movie To Mix Live-Action, CGI, Manufactured Edginess

Relentless in their task of marrying blue CGI and visibly desperate acting jobs, Smurfs producer Sony Pictures has started development on a animated/live-action hybrid Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Sega's anthropomorphized mascot for '90s edginess has already been animated in Wreck-It Ralph and several other cartoons--in 1993 alone he had two separate series, disparate save for the unifying voiceover work of Steve Urkel--but this will be the first time the video game icon will bring his so-called "irreverent tone and spirit" to the real world. Now when he starts condescendingly waggling his finger around, someone can smack him right in his unified eye.
