Steve Carell To Star, Explode in Acme-Based 'Looney Tunes' Movie

August 27, 2014

One-upping their own Batman series that isn't really about Batman, Warner Bros. is moving forward on a Looney Tunes movie that's not about the Looney Tunes characters. The studio has reportedly just hired on X-Men: First Class writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz to pen Acme, a film first pitched nearly four years ago as a live-action/CGI hybrid that "would not center on the Looney Tunes characters." As implied in the title, instead the focus would be Acme, the Amazon of Looney Tunes, responsible for sending Wile E. Coyote so many stupid things.

The project is moving ahead fast, and Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are already in talks to direct the film with their Crazy, Stupid, Love star Steve Carell in the lead. Soon we shall have our Space Jam of running a successful, vertically-integrated manufacturing and shipping business.
