Bill Murray Tossed Some Female Ghostbusters Options Out There

September 9, 2014

As has been the case since back when the Ghostbusters first brought on Zeddemore, Bill Murray's part in their hiring procedure has always been to stand idly by and let Dan Aykroyd do whatever it is he's gonna do. Now that Murray has vocally, repeatedly separated himself from the second Ghostbusters sequel Aykroyd still insists on making, that would assumedly remain the case. But still, that isn't stopping anyone from asking him who he'd like to see in the film.

With Murray currently at TIFF promoting St. Vincent, the Toronto Star asked the actor who he'd like to see in a proton pack should rumors of an all-female team prove true. His response:

"Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny -- God, she's funny!

"I like this girl Linda Cardellini (Freaks & Geeks, the similarly ghost-focused Scooby Doo) a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."

Congratulations to those ladies for the ambivalent honor of Bill Murray mentioning them for something he adamantly opposes.
