Bond Villain Richard Kiel Dies at 74

September 11, 2014

Richard Kiel, Bond villain and driving force behind the popularity of grillz, has died at the age of 74. The actor most famously played the evil Jaws in The Spy Who Loved Me and then again in Moonraker, later sort of reprising the part in the Inspector Gadget role of "Famous Big Guy with Silver Teeth." While his towering, 7'2" frame and crude features provided him a long career as a brute or a monster, many will now remember him fondly for the role that put a different chunk of metal in his head--that of the imposing but likable Mr. Larson in Happy Gilmore. TMZ reports that Kiel had suffered a broken leg last week and passed away in a hospital yesterday afternoon, but it's not yet clear if the injury was involved in his death.
