In surprising news, Universal is reportedly in talks to delay the next time we get to see Jeremy Renner in the beloved role of Aaron Cross, hero of the Bourne franchise. Their reason: so that Matt Damon can return to the series as a character named Jason Bourne. According to Deadline, the studio is negotiating with Damon to reunite with Paul Greengrass and his unsteady cameraman--the duo that directed The Bourne Supremacy and Ultimatum--on a new chapter. Despite both actor and director saying they were done with the franchise, and despite Aaron Cross being the most popular baby name since 2012, it's said the Damon-led film will now take the July 2016 date previously reserved for Renner's sequel.
