Weekend Box Office Sees Dolphin Take Out Raccoon

September 15, 2014

The box office was this weekend dominated by home invasion and bionic dolphins--much as our post-apocalyptic future will be. Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson's thriller No Good Deed took the chart's top spot, while Dolphin Tale 2's promise of an additional story about a dolphin won that film second place. Guardians of the Galaxy was bumped two spots to third, but Marvel probably isn't all that upset by this: the film just evened up its massive domestic and international totals, bringing its worldwide gross to $611 million.

1. No Good Deed - $24.5 million

2. Dolphin Tale 2 - $16.6 million

3. Guardians of the Galaxy - $8 million

4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - $4.8 million

5. Let's Be Cops - $4.3 million
