'Bachelor Party' Series in Development, Sounds Nothing Like 'Bachelor Party'

October 22, 2014

Threatening the sacrosanct validity of Bachelor Party 2: The Last Temptation's subtitle, ABC has given a put pilot commitment to further needlessly extend the Bachelor Party franchise with an anthology series. The pitch comes from New Girl producer-writers JJ Philbin and Josh Malmuth, two guys who, by all evidence, have not actually seen Bachelor Party. Though the series is described as "loosely inspired" by the 1984 Tom Hanks comedy, from the description, you've never guess the connection. It's said the series would each season look at marriage through the relationships of three different couples--one engaged, one divorced, and one just beginning to fall for each other. But before you dismiss this entirely as cashing in on the nostalgic brand in name only, know that each season will end in one of the couples fucking a donkey.
