Batman Getting His Own Solo Movie, as a Minifigure

October 10, 2014

In a rare, against-code move by the studio, Warner Bros. has decided to let someone make a fun superhero movie. THR reports that Warner is putting off their Lego Movie sequel so that attached director Chris McKay can instead focus on a film centering on the hugely-enjoyable Lego version of Batman. Lego Batman is being fast-tracked and is expected to likely take over Lego Movie 2's Memorial Day 2017 release date. Will Arnett is thankfully returning to lend the perfect voice to the character, but unfortunately, the more general voice may not be so spot-on: original screenwriters (and directors) Phil Lord and Chris Miller are now merely producing, leaving the script in the hands of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies author Seth Grahame-Smith, our Master Builder of giddily forcing together incongruous concepts.
