In keeping with the plan to turn everything we've ever heard of into a series, Sony Pictures has announced a deal with DHX Media to do that with Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Weirdly, this series will not be about food falling from the sky. Instead, according to the release, the series will be a canonical prequel to the film, seeing protagonist Flint Lockwood as a tween trying to be a scientist despite growing up in a town dominated by sardine industry jobs. So rest assured that, if nothing else, like us, our children will grow up only aware of how a sardine can rolls down because of seeing it in a cartoon.
