Eli Roth Already Remaking His 'Cabin Fever'

October 20, 2014

It's been twelve years since Cabin Fever hit theaters, and over two months since the last sequel did, so naturally it's time to start over with that. Variety reports that the first film's writer-director Eli Roth has come on to executive produce a remake of the 2002 horror film that launched his career of making a couple Hostels. Scavenger director Travis Zariwny is already in Oregon shooting the film, and unlike most remakes, this one is saving some on its re-imagining budget by just using the same screenplay as the original.

"I almost see this like re-staging a play," explained Roth, our dramaturge. "And I'm excited to see what ideas Travis and the cast bring to it." That cast: Teen Wolf's Gage Golightly, Paranormal Activity 3's Dustin Ingram, Samuel Davis, Matthew Daddario, and Nadine Crocker. All doomed to dwell in the shadow of Rider Strong.
