Jay Leno, still insistent that he should continue smirking somewhere on television, is apparently nearing a deal to return to television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Leno is finishing talks to start a new show on news network CNBC, where his precious Headlines can be found in plenty. It's said the series would deviate from The Tonight Show and the short-lived Jay Leno Show format and now see Leno in primetime, concentrating on his favorite thing after dwelling on the O.J. trial: his fancy cars! The deal is said to be "a coup for CNBC," as the network's drive into a ratings wall has until now lacked a salt-and-pepper sack of denim to pile on the accelerator.
