Mac Making Movie That Isn't 'Lethal Weapon' Sequel

October 15, 2014

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator Rob McElhenney is finally working on a film that isn't an unauthorized sequel to Lethal Weapon. Deadline reports that Mac has made what's potentially a seven-figure deal for Legendary Pictures to acquire his pitch to write and direct something called Figment. Like he did with It's Always Sunny, McElhenney sold the idea on an impassioned pitch and a demo reel he made himself, and like an Adam Sandler film, the movie sounds woefully like an Adam Sandler film: it's said to be "a family action adventure about an imaginative boy and his family who are thrown for a loop when their greatest fears come to life." We can only pray that their greatest fear is a belligerent and armed Danny DeVito.
