'My Little Pony' Movie To Bring Entire Horse Spectrum to Theaters

October 20, 2014

Good news for both Bronies and the kids My Little Pony was actually intended for: Hasbro Studios has started development on a My Little Pony feature film. The company is reportedly setting a 2017 date for the animated production, which will be written by Joe Ballarini, an uncredited contributor to the Ice Age: Continental Drift script. While the equine-and-rainbow-based franchise has already spawned limited theatrical releases in My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks, and the 1986 My Little Pony: The Movie that made less than $6 million despite promising the voice of Danny DeVito and Cloris Leachman, this will be the first planned large-scale release. It will hopefully not be in 3D. God knows what will happen with some of these people if the ponies seem close enough to be touched.
