Robert Downey Jr. Joins 'Captain America 3'

October 14, 2014

Finally clearing up what "other stuff with Marvel" Robert Downey Jr. has been playing so coy about, Variety is reporting that the actor has joined not Iron Man 4 but Captain America 3. Downey will continue Starking it up in the sequel to kick off a larger arc based on Marvel Comics' Civil War storyline, which pits Captain America and Iron Man against each other over the Superhero Registration Act. Downey's Tony Stark supports the program, which forces those with superpowers to make themselves known to the government, while Chris Evans' Steve Rogers is against it. At last, comic book fans will get their blockbuster about registration policy debate.
