Penny Marshall Returns to Directing [Inspirational Female Baseball Player Movies]

Penny Marshall hasn't directed a feature film since 2001's Riding in Cars with Boys, but she's ready to get back in the game now that someone told her there are more inspirational tales of baseball-playing women to tell. The A League of Their Own director is reportedly getting back behind the camera for Effa, a film about Negro National League player turned owner and business manager Effa Manley, the first woman ever inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. The hope is to shed some light on a hugely important subject: that apparently Madonna's character never got inducted for catching a fly ball in her cap.
